My sister in law keeps talking down to me like I am dirty under her feet. She treats everyone in our family the same way. She has a master degree in art but can't find a job in our small town. Our family is well educated and we are all working and moving forward with our lives so why does she think she's better than us? If she thought so little of us why did she marry my brother who is a mechanic?

Dear Pissed off,
It sounds like your sister in law treats your family badly because she is jealous of progress and the lack of her own progress in her career. A degree in art is nice but you have to live in a large city to usually find a job. Maybe she has a lot of regrets now from her choices in the past.
